Environment Centre

Key Concepts
? Community initiative and solutions
? Economic and environmental solutions to problems
? Community service

Started in 1997, The Raglan/Whaingaroa Environment Centre grew from locals concerned about erosion and other environmental issues in the Whaingaroa catchment area. The environment centre focuses efforts on offering the community economic and environmental solutions to everyday choices. Projects vary from home solutions to organizing community workshops, and helping individuals apply for insulating subsidies. A visit to the centre allows groups to see the positive things that can happen when people get together. The Environment Centre can also organize service projects at local gardens.
